4 Considerations When Choosing Your Bridesmaids

You may have a number of close friends in mind but there are things worth considering when making your final choices. Having the right mix of people in your entourage can really make a difference-- can save you a lot of money and drama that’s for sure, so here are a few tips to help you choose.

LESS IS MORE

There are probably many at the top of your head and you might think that by having more bridesmaids, you can delegate more tasks and not be too worried if one has an emergency on the day of your wedding but this isn’t entirely the case. Having more bridesmaids means that there will be more clashing ideas and coordination will be close to impossible. Having less enables you to get more useful insights, spend less for their gowns, and it’ll be easier for your bridesmaids to coordinate with one another.

INCLUDE YOUR SIBLINGS

Getting married in the Philippines means that family is E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G so opting not to include your siblings (unless for personal reasons, of course) is a big no-no especially if they’re close to your age. It won’t only cause a stir but they’ve been with you through thick and thin since forever-- and will be around until... well, forever. It’ll be hard not to hurt their feelings if you choose to opt out. It would also be useful to know that they can greatly help in coordinating with the rest of your family, which can be a difficult task for your friends.

RELIABILITY IS A MUST

It goes without saying that being part of the wedding entourage is a big responsibility. You have to make sure that the person you’re taking in isn’t only 100% supportive of you but is available and reliable before and during your wedding day!

ADAPTABILITY

One word: drama-- this is what you want to avoid at all costs as it WILL get in the way of your wedding. If you know certain people don’t get along, make the decision to either choose one or neither. Bridesmaids are there to support and help you all the way and not add unnecessary drama to the mix.
