Still think you’re not the lucky type when it comes to raffles? Think again! College sweethearts Charmaine Santos and Robyn Tison never pictured themselves winning. As they were filling up the form during registration, they were told that for every P2,000 spent on booking, they had a raffle entry to win the grand prize of P100,000… they didn’t think much of it and just carried on with their plans.
They were eyeing the date, 08/18/18, and wanted to secure it as soon as possible so they focused on booking suppliers ASAP, “Sige mag book na tayo kasi baka maubusan pa tayo ng mga videographer, hotel, ganyan so nag book kami bago ng proposal!” Charmaine recalls. As luck would have it, despite being non-believers, soon enough they were told that they won the P100,000 cash prize! Charmaine’s tito was the first to find out, Charmaine shares, “Di ako makapaniwala kasi non-believer naman ako talaga, di ako masyado [believe] sa raffle tapos one day, bigla nalang ako nanalo! Unang nagka-alam sa akin is ung kapatid ng daddy ko-- bigla siyang sumisigaw sa bahay namin, kinabahan ako, kala ko anong nangyari!” Robyn laughs as he shares his initial reaction, “Sa pangalan ng Charmaine Santos, sobrang dami talaga yun sabi ko! So confirm nalang niyo muna!...”
Winning was a big blessing for them as the cash prize was definitely a helpful contribution to their wedding funds. As Robyn shares, “Ngayon nagpre-prepare pa rin kami pero sobrang laking bagay talaga un, maraming magbabago talaga.” We’re definitely excited for the two and look forward to hearing about the big changes they’ll be making for their big day!
